​What is Medical Helpline?

​Medical Helpline is the emergency number in The Region of Southern Denmark.

The Medical Helpline is staffed by physicians and nurses who are able to guide you to proper and quick help and assistance when your GP is closed.

​If you need urgent medical assistance with acute, life threatening illness or injury, then call 112.

Opening hours for the Medical Helpline

You can contact the Medical Helpline from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays and during all hours over the weekend.

Call ahead

A physician who will advise you about proper treatment will answer your call. For example, they can refer you to a hospital emergency department or an urgent care centre.

The Medical Helpline is able to inform you about which hospital emergency department or urgent care centre has the shortest waiting time. As part of the service, you will be informed when you can expect to be examined. 

Always call ahead to ensure that you receive the proper help required. This will also help planning your treatment when you arrive.

Prescription renewals

Contact your own general practitioner if you need new prescriptions for previously prescribed medicine.
